I wasn't impressed with this set. There are not a whole lot of activities which can be done pretty quickly- and probably most if not all with common household objects and a magnet or two. If I knew better, I probably would have taken a few refrigerator magnets off the fridge and looked for some fun ideas without buying the kit. The one thing that got "ooohhs and ahhhs" was the "put a magnet on the table and move it with one under the table" trick. Looks like "magic" for a first grader....

My 3-1/2 year old daughter received this for Christmas. She is fascinated with magnets. There are a couple of quite powerful magnets, some medium ones and some weak. She particularly likes the magnetic balls, and is intrigued with the polarity of all of the magnets. I like that this gift is educational. It has an activity book that we have used a couple of times. It's not necessarily her favorite toy, but she enjoys playing with it.
