Description:

It's pure indulgence - and it's science! As they explore the real chemistry behind spa science, kids will make bath gels, bath fizzers, spa lotion, bath balm, shampoo and more, while creating their own product line. Both girls and boys (yes, boys too!) will spend hours in the tub with this kit mixing ingredients and conducting science experiments to see how scents affect our alertness, moods and memories. The best way to get girls interested in science is to engage them in activities that interest them - what could be better than Spa Science? Ages 9 and up.

4Good Clean Fun  Jan 09, 2007
By R. Canuso "Cooking Mom"
Spa Science is probably more of a recipe than a science experiment, but is still alot of fun. Girls mix fragrances and bases into fun bath prodcuts. Some fizz and release bubbles (carbon dioxide-hense the science part). My 10 yr old dughter enjoys mixing things and creating new blends of ingredients, so this kit was right up her alley. Alot of fun for all girls. It may transfer into an interest in science, but science is not the main focus of the kit.

4Spa Science  May 30, 2007
By F. Sturgill
Just the thing for a nine year old girl. Enough beauty features to be of interest to her yet not too much perfumy smells nor dangerous features. Easy to use even without an adult around. I would still be around in case of spills or error.

3Nice but expensive for what it is  Feb 04, 2009
By Marga
I bought this kit for my 7yo, and she and her 4yo sister enjoyed making soap & bath salts (we still haven't made the bath fizzes). It's a fun activity for a mom to do with her girls. That said, the kit of mostly valuable for the recipes. Most of the items in the kit (oatmeal, baking soda, citric acid, sea salt, rose petals) I already had at home, and the others (fragrances, 1 glycerin soap) I could buy at Michael's for far less money. But I'm not sorry I bought it as a first kit.

5Lots of fun  Dec 18, 2007
By JG
Daughter is 4 and we had lots of fun putting this together. Good idea to keep track of the original experiment quantities if you want to repeat them down the road. Really simple stuff and probably easy to replicate without the kit, but well organized and convenient. You need access to your kitchen and some heat source. Along with measuring devices.

4Nice gift  Oct 17, 2008
By Busy Mom "~K"
The child I got this for said she made a big mess but she loved it. It seemed to be more about the mess and "spa" idea than the science.
