I purchased this for my 7 years olds birthday in September. He and his 9 year old brother have made over 100 of the circuits already and done the experiments as well. My 9 year old likes it so much I can actually get him to read the instruction! Great toy for any kid that loves to build things!

I'm an adult who loves to learn hands on. I have been wanting to learn about electronics for years. So, I was pleased when I found Snap Circuits. Your not to old for them after the age of 18. So,they also have advanced ones.
The motion detector is a great starter kit, but the info sheet which comes with it does not really help much. Colorful, yes, but descriptive, no. It doesn't really tell what things do...
My only other qualm is that the grid is too small. Now this set, you can build it off grid. Kind of tricky though.
Conclusion: Great if you son/daughter or you want to check out and see if there is any interest in electronics for real.

we bought the full snap circuit set for our son last year, he so loved this toy. So this year we bought a couple of additions, again he loved it. This toy has so many different possiblities, he plays with it often and creats his own inventions!

We love snap circuits, and this was a nice addition to our set, with the exception that it didn't work. Not a single project worked so we are sending it back. I am not willing to try it again. I will move on to a different motion sensor item. I still however recommend the snap circuits, just not this set.
