1don't waste your money  Jan 07, 2012
By Lauren
My son received this for Christmas and it was immediately returned. One use indicated it was complete junk. Very plastic and poorly made. The light didn't work well, and the lenses didn't seem to magnify as much as they indicated. We exchanged for "my first lab duoscope microscope", and the extra cost was well worth it-- something useless to completely useful. The difference in quality was between night and day. Upgrade to that instead....

4A great little kit for a budding Scientist  Dec 26, 2011
By Isabella E. Bertelli
My son received this kit and loves it. The microscope is small, but functional. It is not high powered but given the age and price range of the product, I don't know who would expect it to be. The slides are easy to use for little one and he loves making his own slides with the blanks provided. The experiment cards provided contain just the right amount of information in a digestible manner and the observation journal is great for both non writers and writers alike. He is very happy with his and goes along nicely with a couple of the books and episodes of the Magic School Bus. I can't speak for the durability (it is plastic) yet, but I believe it will last until he is more experienced enough for a robust microscope.

4Science Fun!  Jan 27, 2012
By Courtney Phillips
My mother-in-law bought this for my daughter for her 4th birthday and she loves it! My husband does the experiments with her. We have 2 older children (9 & 11) and they love to help out. Overall I would say this is a fun toy for kids both young and old. Younger kids need assistace and the older, say 8 and up, should be able to work independently to do the task cards by themselves.

1This is a SAD joke  Jan 14, 2012
By Vogon Poet
This is a sad, sad joke of a gift -- a complete sham and a disservice to the Magic School Bus method and magic. It does not work. You might as well get a toilet paper tube and some plastic wrap and make your own. My kid was so amazingly disappointed --- she really, really wanted a microscope (and my parents should have known better -- for the price).

4I guess it's good  Feb 18, 2012
By R. Parrish
I don't really know much about this item. I bought it based on other reviews and I put it along with other gifts that my coworkers purchased for a child we pulled from an Angel Tree at Christmas time. I hope the child enjoyed it.
