Start Turning their Thumbs Green May 08, 2009
By J. Plummer All in all, you get everything you need to start a humble pot garden. This set comes with the 3 pots, the pot holder, some soil and organic seeds, and a little trowel. The directions are easy to follow to get this started, and the seeds they provide are fast sprouters. We saw little plants (the basil) shoot up in just 2 or 3 days. My daughters were so excited to check their plants everyday and water them. We've been growing the plants for over a month now and the basil is doing great, the sunflowers are growing, and the zinnias are moving slow, but getting there. If I had one complaint, and this is as a gardener, I worry about how well the plants will continue to grow as the pots have no hole(s) at the bottom for water drainage. But so far, so good. The plants have had little care (water once a day and set in the sun) and are still thriving. This set makes my kids excited about growing plants and makes them more aware of their world.

Gardening With Little Ones Mar 14, 2010
By S. Pichner
"Xandersmommy04"
I stumbled across this last year and bought it for my son and I to do together. I wanted to introduce him to gardening in any small way I could and we also talked about recycling, what materials everything was made from. It was so fun going to look everyday to see if the seeds had sprouted and he was very excited when they did. When they were big enough, we transplanted them into the garden and watched them grow all season. He was so excited when the huge sunflowers opened and was proud that he had grown it himself! He will plant new seeds this year and I will buy another set for my younger son and let him grow his own too. I love the colors, the pots are very durable. The kids found them this winter and have been using them to play in the snow. They are very solid and take all their abuse. Love this product and how something so simple can teach so much.

Awesome Garden Set!! May 20, 2008
By Cat We just loved this garden set. All the parts are really strong and high quality, it's amazing they are made from recycled milk containers. The seeds are all organic, and it comes with compacted soil that looks like a hockey puck but fluffs up into a full pot of soil. Very cool!!!

Watch 'em grow! May 28, 2008
By L. Feeney My 3 year old daughter had a blast filling the pots with the dirt & seeds, and now everything is growing. She waters them all the time (watering can & a spray bottle) and notes if it's too windy or rainy and wants to check on her plants all the time. Lots of ongoing learning...we hope to cook & eat some of the herbs later this summer.

Expired Seeds - Everything else was good. Feb 02, 2011
By Kathryn Kapalko I started planting these with my daughter and I noticed that (after everything was open) that the seed packets said that the seeds were for April 2009. It is Feb. 2011. However, I am not sure if the seller would know that this is what the seed packets said since no where on the box did it say when it expired. Seeds that do not grow make it not as much fun.
