This is a great learning tool. I gave this magnet set to my 6 year old nephew and he loved it! He figured out on his own that only certian sides of a magnet will attract. He loved being able to grab ahold of the big magnet and pick up many different types of objects.

A good product. The magnet is actually just a plastic form with a small magnet in each end. One north, one south. They have good strength and the "magnet" has a handle that makes it easy for a kid to hold. The kit includes a lot of small pick up pieces that can get lost. The magnet can pick up all the included pieces and then some.
