4Solar Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle  Mar 23, 2011
By regina lobsiger
I don't think I would catergorize this as a toy. This is something that is used in a experiment or demostration. It is very durable and looks like it can handle a little punishment. This was a great project for a science fair experiment. It does need some assembly, but if that is what you are looking for to do. It comes with everything you need to to work with solar, hydrogen, and fuel cell. There is also a battery pack available that comes with it. A book to help guide you through the process. Could work on the book a little about the testing with the multimeter. My son is 14 and it is a good age appropriate project to use. It does not come with a remote, please keep that in mind if you choose to want that instead. That depends on what you are trying to accomplish with your experiment. This help him win many awards in his local and county level.

5Great Educational Toy  Jan 02, 2011
By Reader and "Mom of 3 Boys"
This is our third Thames & Kosmos science kit for our boys. They absolutley love them. This one was purchased for our 13 year old son at Christmas. He has enjoyed tinkering with it and has not finished all the experiments with it. His only complaint to date is that the solar panel will not power the car -- however, it is winter and if he gave it more time outside, it may change the results (?). Meanwhile, he has enjoyed working with this science kit. As parents, we really like these science kits (vs. playing a video game or whatever!) and the boys get really absorbed working with them.

2Wanted to send it back but got no reply!  Jul 21, 2011
By Mr. Chemistry 82
I purchased this product for a program that promotes high-tech, hands-on science education with the intent that if it met my needs and the needs of my teachers and students, I would buy 9 more. Several teachers examined the product, did multiple experiments and compared what it could to to what I wanted it to be able to do. I wanted to return it for a refund, but I got no response from the seller. I am sure this toy is good in the hands of certain students, but it will not fully meet my needs.

3Very, very interesting. You do need to be somewhat of an engineer to understand it fully though  Mar 14, 2011

This is definitely a fun project. I would highly recommend it but you really do need to understand basic engineering to fully appreciate it.
