fun, but there is a problem Aug 31, 2008
By Shayna's Mom I just purchased this toy for my daughter (age 5) who loves bugs. She enjoys playing with it and it is easy to put the pieces together. However, it is rather difficult to pull them apart. She had to get my help several times and I had to pull rather hard to get the pegs out of the holes. On a couple of occasions, the peg that was supposed to be attached to one piece got stuck in another piece when trying to pull the pieces apart and my husband actually had to use a pliers to extract it.

Great Imaginative & Building Toy! Dec 25, 2010
By Shopper X I just bought the BugBonz set for my 4 1/2 y.o. daughter for Christmas, and now feel compelled to write a review Christmas day now that she's played with it: We both love it! This set is so colorful, and encourages using *imagination* to construct some very fanciful creatures. The feet can be eyes, the wings can be feet, it goes on and on, so you can't limit yourself here with these sets. Using this set, you can get two really good bugs at a time, so that they can play with each other, or go entertain other toys in your child's arsenal (my girl's constructed 'dragonfly' went to go fly around her LittlestPetShop toys). So it's 100% fun. Note: Her constructed creation was pretty good size, total length 13"; the smallest 'bug' runs about 5". At first she felt frustrated because the pieces wouldn't attach as easily as she would have liked, but I was there with her, so I helped out as needed; now playing for the 2nd session she attaches 90% of the toys together and only needs my help with a few.
Note: To pull them apart you just have to twist them around at the same time that you pull them out, rather than yanking them right off, and if your child is old enough to play on their own with them, just instruct them on taking the pieces apart. It loses two stars for durability for this reason, although the pieces themselves are completely durable.
I love that they're completely sturdy and not lightweight, I can already tell they're gonna be around for a while, and have researched and now play to buy the SeaBonz set for next year. Lots of fun! I would recommend the toy, supervised, for ages 3 & 4 (but I could also see 2 year olds getting a kick out of the funny constructions if they're parent-made and up & out of reach); unsupervised, for ages 5+.

A little flimsy Mar 22, 2010
By Y. Payne I repaired the pegs on this toy twice since Christmas. The pegs get stuck inside and require hard work, small pliers and a magician for recovery. My kid only plays with it occasionally but she really likes it so that's the only reason I haven't returned it. I just wish it was better quality.

Not easy to use, not enough parts Dec 26, 2009
By K. Brumer My almost 3-yr-old got this as a gift. The pieces are almost impossible to put in and remove (or they are too loose), and there aren't nearly enough parts to make any good bugs. For example: the red "beetle" body has places to put 4 feet, but the feet provided are too fat to fit on the body. Only two will fit, and the bug tips over. This was not a well-thought-out toy.

so cute and fun! Feb 14, 2011

"colorful character"
These remind me of the "cooties" game we had when I was little. You can build your bug out of the interchangable parts. It's a great toy for stimulating imaginative play.
Naturally, if you kid is fairly little, you'll lose half the pieces right away :)
The container wasn't very durable, so I moved the pieces to a big kitchen container to keep them organized.
