Fun at Dinner Jan 05, 2008
By Kelli Walinske
"Loving Mommy"
I bought this for my 2 year old. Although the letters are a bit advanced, we use the pictures instead and then talk about the letters. We play flashcards at dinner, he's a constant on the go little guy so keeping him sitting and focused to play is difficult but doing it while he's strapped in his booster is wonderful! I also bought all the other brainy cards and use them in the same way (colors shapes etc.). They are made of thick card stock.

DONT BUY THIS! Oct 17, 2008
By M. Oswalt I also bought this a while back when it was advertised for $5.00 as a case of 48. I contacted Amazon when I only received ONE pack of cards. Like the other reviewer above who thought they were getting A CASE as stated in the description, only one pack of cards came. The customer service rep from Amazon had the nerve to tell me I must be more diligent when purchasing and if I had a concern about the price, I should have contacted them to make sure it was the right price?!! Are you kidding me with that????? We went back and forth about it for a while and the rep was condescending, rude and basically told me it was an error on Brainy Baby's part and I should contact them. I told him that I didnt buy this product from Brainy Baby, I bought it from Amazon. Finally, he did give me a refund and I was satisfied with that. Now, a few months later, I see that Amazon has once again listed this item as a case of 48 for $5.00. IS THIS AN ERROR YET AGAIN, AMAZON? C'mom now! Are you hoping that customers will order this thinking they are getting a case and then NOT complain when only one pack of cards come? I can see an error once, but now again? It is ridiculous. Also, Amazon's customer service reps try to make the customer feel like they are the ones responsible for the error....I have had this happen before with the reps from Amazon. This is, however, the first time I am writing a review about it because, frankly, it irks me that Amazon will try and sell this as a case of 48 again. I didnt complain in writing the first time this happened to me, but I dont want anyone else to go through the headache I went through with this item, and it bothers me that Amazon is listing this item again as if it were a case of 48....WHEN YOU WILL NOT GET THAT AND AMAZON WILL NOT HONOR IT WHEN YOU CALL TO INQUIRE ABOUT IT. Sorry to rant, but this really bugs me. Do yourself a favor and skip this item, unless you want to call Amazon first and "be more diligent" than I was, according to the Amazon rep I spoke with. I am sure if you call them and inquire, they will tell you it is an error (again!). Do better, Amazon, and train your customer service reps to help your customers, not try and talk down to them when they call with a complaint, especially when English is really not their forte to begin with!!

DON'T BUY THESE FROM AMAZON! Apr 18, 2008
By k I purchased these cards from Amazon and to my disappointment there were only 24 cards. The last six letters of the alphabet were doubled up on a card. I contacted Brainy Baby and I was told that sometimes their manufacturer sells a different version of these cards to cut costs and that's what I ended up with. I ended up purchasing a different set directly from Brainy Baby and in that set was 36 cards. This time some of the letters had two cards...but at least all of the letters each had their own card! They are great cards...large and very durable.
I'm giving it an overall one star since I was ripped off and only got 23 alphabet cards when there's 26 letters in the alphabet (one of the cards is an instructional card). And giving the educational value of this set of flashcards a one star since each letter didn't have its own card...I don't want my child to think some letters aren't as important as others.

MISLEADING ADVERTISEMENT - NOT A CASE - JUST ONE PACK!!! Oct 10, 2008
By Disappointed Customer For those of you who think you are getting a deal - you are NOT - you will not get a case of 48 like advertised. You will get only one pack, which does NOT retail for $143 and does not weigh 9 lbs. I ordered this and found out the hard way. I contacted the seller who told me that I paid for one pack and that is what I got and that this posting on Amazon was wrong and that they told Amazon to change it. Somehow, this is my problem that their posting is wrong. Anyhow, I got charged shipping to ship 9 lbs when it was more like 2 ounces. Definitely not worth $13.50 for one pack of cards!!!
My 18 month old loves these cards! Feb 17, 2012
By 1st time mama My sister gave these cards to us when my daughter was first born. I started to show the cards to her around 11 months (yes they are flimsy) and ended up going to Kinko's and laminating them since she liked to bend them. I have worked with her about every day on them and she now can recognize and say all the letters at 18 months! She loves to pull out her bag and do flashcards together while at home or away. We also have the shapes and colors cards and she has learned those as well. I say use your judgement if you want to purchase them or not, but as for our family we love them and can't wait to give them to friends!
