4A fun kit that is educational.  Oct 09, 2011
By Jack
We bought this for our 5 yr old son knowing we would be doing a lot of the work of putting it together. DS loves to know how things work and was absolutely thrilled to receive this kit.

We have only owned it for a short time, but I feel like I should still comment.

Pros:
-The pieces and hoses fit together snugly, so it doesn't fall apart every 5 seconds
-Excellent teaching tool for learning about compressed air
-15 different models to build
-Ran 30-40 ft using water in "truck" mode on level driveway (3rd model)

Cons:
-The pictures in the instruction book are tiny (I copied them at 150% and it was much easier to work from)
-The gasket comes off of the smaller blue "wheel" constantly in "truck" mode (I'll probably super glue it)

The little red pieces were hard for my son to put in by himself. I do not say that negatively, as I know this is meant for older kids. This kit worked well as a family project and we look forward to building more models. Overall, I would purchase it again.

5Fantastic Toy!  Jan 20, 2011
By jfw_phd
I purchased this toy for my 7 year old nephew this past Christmas. He absolutely loved it! He wanted to start building one of the car designs right away. When we finished it, we took it outside and ran it. This thing can really move. The next day we build one of the stationary designs that uses more gears and plastic chains like a drive train. I found out a couple weeks later that he took the toy to school for show and tell, and the class went nuts over it. Apparently the school is now going to buy some of the toys to use in class as a teaching tool. I highly recommend this toy for any child who loves to build and tinker.

4Great but ....  Jun 01, 2011

The kit is very well made and my grand daughter and I had fun working with it but found that the pumps pressure valve takes some care to make it work properly. Guess the kit does require adult help.

5Great Project  Jul 22, 2011
By Educator
I bought this for my 8 year old nephew. He loves creating projects and science. The Thames & Kosmos Air + Water Power couldn't have been more perfect. He has created all kinds of wonderful projects. He loves it. So do I.

4lasted a long time.  Mar 25, 2012
By Douglas A. Ward
Took my son a few hours to build. Unlike most toys, he returns to play with it all the time. I really works well, rolling 30 or 40 feet on a tile floor on one pump up. Lots of interesting seat of the pants expiriments about how much water vs how many pumps. Has a facinating chain drive sitting out for everyone to see, that can be adjusted by adding or taking out links.
