There are many interesting chemistry concepts you can expose to an enthusiastic youngster. I bought this kit for my son's eighth birthday. Found there weren't many experiments to try, explanations in the manual were simplistic, and key components were fragile and arrived broken. If it were more expensive and I felt my son would have cared, I would have asked for a replacement.

Purchased for my 8 year old son who loves anything with science. He did play with but, didn't seem to hold his interest (same deal with other sets like this that I purchased). Glad I didn't pay much.

My son received this chemistry kit for Christmas and LOVES it! We both love the hands-on educational experience. The directions are clear and all items are contained in the kit for numerous discoveries. It just happens to be the same thing he's learning in school right now! We'll be purchasing the other kits in this line, as well!

I purchased this Chemistry Set for my 10 year old nephew, it has created a passion for chemistry! He found it so interesting that he is now memorizing the periodic table. I recommend this set for anyone child with a desire to create and learn new things.

This is a great hands-on toy that I gave to a nephew for Christmas. He is 9 years old and generally only gets excited over mindless video games. He got really excited over this chemistry set and wanted to open it first, before the video games he got! Great educational gift idea!
